The Place to fish in the Waveney Valley

Harleston, Wortwell and District Angling Club

The Harleston, Wortwell and District Angling Club owns and manages 6 well stocked fishing lakes in the Waveney Valley on the Norfolk/Suffolk border, together with some stretches of the River Waveney itself.

The lakes - also known as Weybread Pits - offer some of the best fishing around for both beginners and highly experienced anglers who are looking for a challenge.

Two lakes - the Club Pit and the Bottle Pit—are owned by the Club and can only be used by those holding an annual membership ticket.

The something lake. The other four lakes - Middle Pit, No.1 Pit, Ocean Pit and Hall's Pit - are managed by the Club on behalf of the Harold Dean Charitable Trust. These 4 pits can be fished on Day or Weekly tickets and by Club members who choose to buy the extra facility. Only members can fish the river.

The third Club lake - Kingfisher in Watermill Lane - is currently under construction.

To find out more about the lakes, see our Lakes page.
